Money is literally filthy. The coins that you handle every day -- well, they have passed through tens of thousands of hands, and through all sorts of situations. Who knows where the hell they've been.
"What we have done for ourselves alone dies with us; what we have done for others and the world remains and is immortal." -- Albert Pike
... body full of poison, head full of bad dreams...
That type of creature curls up when it dies -- and vanishes. It's of no use to it to vanish, but it's a reproductory advantage to the species (conceals traces from hunters).

The clasp of their hands divided by the pencil in his.
... enjoys turning pleasures into chores by methodically pursuing them and self-imposing a duty to do so...
I remember that there were always two patterns.
My parents would take me somewhere new, and I would be bored. Close to the end of the evening, a game would be devised. On beginning the activity, I would grow engrossed, and wouldn't want to leave.
And the second pattern... First boredom, then some repetitive activity supposed to be fun, and then the true game. It would evolve from the collective interactions of the children -- with some sort of purpose and challenge. The game would grow more and more furious, and would always end with something broken or someone crying.
Do you truly have the intuition of continuity from the day you're born? Are you the same person you were then? Or do you regard the person of 20 years ago as a stranger?
If the latter, then "death" is inevitable given a long enough life -- there is no hanging on to identity.
Ask Buddha.
... bound to him unequivocally... was one of the few people alive who remembered my mother, and that the knowledge remained on earth was precious to me.
But damn his long memory.
Often you don't care whether they stay with you for your beauty or for your brains -- so long as they do stay with you.
