Hates and loves

It's surely entirely normal to take your hates more seriously than your loves. The former involve issues of power and honour and self-protection, whereas the latter involve pleasure, or fealty already given to you.

Surely indeed. I've often wondered if we hate to the same degree and intensity that we love... is it a two sided coin?

Only those who have not known love do consider it weaker than hate. It goes beyond pleasure and folly.

I don't know whether hate is the opposite of love, or a type of love, or something entirely different. I'll try to give the matter more thought...
And I'm also uncertain which is the stronger.
In my own case, I have to confess, that I have loved and fallen out of it... at least as I understand the word "love"... But my hate, my grudges, span decades. Insults seem as fresh now as they did back then.
The "consciousness" category is a bit of a misnomer, incidentally. I just didn't know what else to call it. It's not so much about the problem of what consciousness is and how it's caused as an attempt to describe what it's like to experience hate, love, sadness, etc. Just an attempt to describe my everyday experience. I didn't know what else to call it.
